Britain’s Jack Draper has put his recent injury woes behind him to reach the fourth round of the US Open and reach the last 16 of a Grand Slam for the first time.
Draper, 21, appeared to fear he would not be able to play in New York due to a shoulder injury but continued to overcome that problem to win 6-4 6-2 3-6 6-3 by wildcard American Michael Mmo.
“It was a long game for me after a tough year,” he said.
The British number five has dropped just one set this week.
In the fourth round, he will play eighth seeded Russian Andrei Rublev or Frenchman Arthur Renderknech.
